Free Training in the Green Collar Workforce with Sustainable South Bronx!

Live in Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island? Would you or someone you know be interested in attending a FREE training program to prepare for jobs in the green industry?  If so, contact me to sign up for the Spring 2012 semester of Sustainable South Bronx‘s, Bronx Environmental Stewardship Training (B.E.S.T.) ECO or BUILDINGS classes.

Founded in 2001 by Majora Carter, this organization has created a platform for local citizens to have a say in environmental justice policy and has trained and prepared thousands of people for jobs in the growing green industry.

~Do you have an interest or experience in Greening? Then sign up for BEST Eco and get hands-on instruction in horticulture, landscaping, ecological restoration, bio-remediation and greenroof installation with instructors & certifications from organizations such as The New York Botanical Garden, Cornell University, NYTrees & OSHA.

~Do you have an interest or experience in learning green building construction & technology? Then sign up for BEST for Buildings and learn weatherization, building maintenance, retrofitting homes & commercial buildings, and receive certifications from OSHA, First Aid/CPR, Energy Efficiency, Basic Air Sealing & BPI/Building Analyst.

Qualified candidates are Males and Females:

-Between the ages of 18-40 years old,

-With a High School Diploma or GED,

-Are able to do physical work,

-Able to participate in the training Full Time.

I took the BEST Eco training in 2009 and it as one of the best things I’ve ever done. It gave me the technical ability and information to match my lifelong love of the environment. I’m now able to teach some of these subjects myself and help educate my community even better!

This program is great for those looking for work, people changing careers, high school graduates or those just looking to enter a growing industry and get trained for FREE!
