PS 38 Brooklyn Springtime Garden Fun Recap! 🌻✨

Our young gardeners embraced spring with flower dissections, seed planting, painted pots, and handmade bird feeders! 🌷🎨🐦

Over the past few weeks, our young gardeners explored the beauty of flowers, planting, and creative gardening projects! 🌱

💐 Flower Week: We observed the first signs of spring as flowers began blooming in our garden. To dive deeper, we dissected flowers in our journals, labeling their parts, and planted various flower seeds in seedling trays. We wrapped up with a fun craft project, creating our own flowers out of popsicle sticks and construction paper! 🌷🎨

🎨 Painting Pots & Native Seed Balls: As our seedlings grew, we painted plant pots to prepare for transplanting. Some artists went abstract, while others painted nature-inspired scenes like sunsets and oceans. 🌊☀️ We also made native seed balls with bee balm, deciding whether to plant them at home or in our garden. 🌱

🌿 Repotting & Bird Feeders: We carefully repotted our morning glories, learning about their root systems and how to handle them gently. 🏡 Then, we started building popsicle stick bird feeders, which we hope to place in the garden soon! 🐦✨

Spring is bringing so much growth and creativity to our garden—we can’t wait for what’s next! 🌼🌞
